Anime Characters With the ENTJ Personality Type

ENTJ personality type:

The ENTJ personality is a rare personality known as the “Commander.” This personality is assertive and strategic, but can come off as harsh and unfriendly. It makes for an interesting personality type to read about and observe so here, we’re aiming to find out which anime characters fall into the ENTJ personality type.

9) Nami - One piece

Nami is the navigator for the Straw Hat pirates, a role that requires careful organization and planning. Although she’s a thief who stole from the pirates, it was revealed that her motivation for doing so was to buy her home back from the Arlong pirates. This motivation is typical of an ENTJ, as it’s a big picture action that requires a certain amount of self-confidence to pull off.

8) Madara Uchiha - Naruto

Madara from Naruto is a character that comes off as merciless and driven. He’s a very strategic and tactical person, even in the face of opponents with higher levels of power than him. He also shows the ENTJ personality type by disliking fighting with weaker enemies as he perceives them to be unworthy despite himself being worthy of fighting enemies stronger than him. He is very powerful and stands out among the characters as someone with a lot of self-respect, ambition, assertiveness and drive. Although he comes across as reserved, his leadership skills appear to be those of an ENTJ.

7) Ichigo Kurosaki - Bleach

Ichigo Kurosaki is the epitome of an ENTJ character. He’s stubborn and strong-willed, and works hard in the dojo toward his long-term goal of being able to protect his family. He also works at being seen as unaffected and tries to keep a detached image. He has a typical ENTJ characteristic of disliking things he doesn’t believe in. He’s known for hating fortune-telling and horoscopes when they’re used for taking money off of people because he doesn’t believe in them. He’s a great example of an ENTJ character who can also be compassionate and empathetic to some of the people in his life.

6) Jessie - Pokemon

Jessie is a great example of a villain ENTJ. She’s a villain because she’s trying to use Pokemon to rule over others. This shows her ENTJ personality because of her lack of empathy for other people or creatures. Most trainers are connected with their pokemon—like Ash Ketchum. Jessie struggles to connect with Pokemon beyond Meowth, which is usual for an ENTJ personality. Although her world domination plans usually go awry, she still shows the ENTJ personality traits of focusing on the big picture and having good organization skills.

5) Erwin Smith - Attack on Titan

Erwin is well known as a leader and fits perfectly into the “Commander” ENTJ personality type. He’s a natural leader, with the ability to think rationally about his decisions and make the most strategic moves. Erwin is also self-sacrificing, making a change for the greater good and looking at the big picture. Finally, he’s also capable of manipulating people and is very charismatic when speaking in public.

4) Katsuki Bakugo - My Hero Academia

Bakugo shows some of the more negative traits of the ENTJ personality type. He can be brash and harsh, and is difficult to interact with. He’s also known as the “angry man” of My Hero Academia because of his bossy attitude. He can be very competitive and antisocial. However, despite these traits, he’s still an honest and capable hero. He has a great capacity for growth and could make an excellent leader if he were to learn more people skills.

3) Azula - Avatar: the Last Airbender

Azula is the spitting image of an ENTJ villain. She’s capable, decisive and an excellent planner. She’s always one step ahead and remains a great difficulty to the Avatar throughout the series because of her ability to think ahead and plan. She’s also a capable leader, with the first few seasons highlighting her close relationship with Mei and Ty Lee. Azula’s downfall comes because she’s unable to connect properly with her friends and they perceive her as treating them like disposable soldiers. She’s absolutely an ENTJ character.

2) Light Yagami - Death Note

Light Yagami begins his arc as a great example of an ENTJ character. He’s excellent at thinking quickly to solve problems and is very hard working. As he gets tainted by the death note, these qualities shift to become negative traits. He becomes colder and more ruthless, and his ambition begins to outweigh his connection with people. He’s an ENTJ for sure.

1) Roy Mustang - Fullmetal Alchemist

Perhaps our favorite on this list, Roy Mustang is a great example of an ENTJ character. He’s very hardworking and ambitious, often making his underlings complain for the hours he asks them to put in. Despite his aloof and cold nature, Roy can inspire the utmost loyalty in his subordinates and takes their trust in him very seriously. Roy also has moments where his arrogance gets the best of him and causes him issues. Despite this, he’s assured in his ability to invoke great changes for the entire country. Roy is a fantastic example of the mixed qualities that can make a great leader out of an ENTJ personality.
