What You Need to Know About the ENTJ Female
The Four-letter Type Indicator explained
The four-letter personality type is based on a Swiss psychologist Carl Jung’s theories on psychological type. It takes into account four dimensions:
- Extraversion (E) or introversion (I) - where your focus is; whether you thrive in social situations
- Sensing (S) or Intuition (N) - how you process information
- Thinking (T) or feeling (F) - your decision making process
- Judging (J) or perceiving (P) - how you deal with the world
The ENTJ female:
The female ENTJ is one of the rarest people in the world. The ENTJ personality type itself is rare, accounting for only 1.8% of the population. Women who are ENTJ are even more rare at 1.5% to the male 2.3%.
Key characteristics
The ENTJ female is a strong leader who thrives in the workplace. She’s a great manager and organizer, and can inspire everyone in the workplace to be their most efficient selves. She is logical and can come off as cold because of the lack of emotional connection. She focuses on the most rational path and can be seen as calculating or cold.
The ENTJ female is often ambitious, and her behavior can be misinterpreted as cunning. She’s a forward-driven individual who can look at the big picture and find the best route to achieving her goals. If she notices someone who has a genuine desire to improve, she’ll likely be eager to teach. However, the ENTJ female has a lack of patience with those who aren’t open to learning from her. The ENTJ female may often encounter disrespect in the workplace from being a female in a position of power.
The ENTJ female is also often found in male-dominated careers because these women are strong leaders who refuse to bow to sexism. She can be found in business, politics, teaching, or entrepreneurial pursuits. She’s up for a challenge and will work long hours and very efficiently to achieve her goals. This often leads to a disconnect with her friends and family, as they’re likely to want her to pay more attention to traditional female roles.
Often the ENTJ female is intimidating to others. She knows what she wants from a partner or coworker and this can cause people to think that she’s aggressive. This is particularly because the ENTJ female won’t mince her words to be more placating to the male experience. She won’t put her ideas forward as someone else's, or add mitigating comments to the end of her sentences to try and be seen as less aggressive. This often makes for an uncomfortable situation in interacting with new people, who expect her to act more like a stereotypical woman, especially in stereotypical corporate meetings and workplaces.
The ENTJ female rises above expectation and can outperform even the ENTJ male. ENTJ females are the highest earners, bringing in even more than their ENTJ male counterparts. This is likely because the ENTJ female is slightly better than the ENTJ male at the weakest parts of the ENTJ personality—connecting with others. Females are often conditioned into being good at social connection from a young age, although it isn't easy for the ENTJ. Still the ENTJ female is likely slightly better at overcoming her natural hesitance to show her emotions than the male, possibly leading to better relationships with those around her.
Strengths
The ENTJ female has a great many strengths. She’s an independent leader who’s organized and loyal to her subordinates. She’s authoritative and decisive, and confident in making decisions on the spur of the moment. She’s often successful and will help to guide and push her staff to new heights if they’re able to stand the pressure. She’s also logical and will help find the best solution when looking at the big picture.
Weaknesses
The ENTJ personality can struggle to interact emotionally with others. This is especially obvious in females, as they are more often expected to be closely tied to their emotional states, and help regulate the emotions of those around them. For the ENTJ female, this is unnatural and difficult, and often results in her coming off as dominating, blunt and cold. She can be accused of being unemotional and disconnected from others, and struggle to form meaningful relationships. She can also be lonely, and struggle to prioritize a healthy work–life balance ahead of completing her tasks.
Overcoming sexism
For the ENTJ female, all the negative characteristics are highlighted and the positive attributes are skewed towards the negative. This is because the ENTJ female doesn’t fall into stereotypical gender roles; she opts to focus on her work and efficiency over focusing on making personal connections and starting a family. Although this is by no means a personality defect, it makes life more difficult for ENTJ females as they are often challenging stereotypes just in their everyday lives. In addition to this, the positive characteristics of an ENTJ, such as being bold, thinking on their feet, and being outgoing can be skewed to being loud, pushy, and too bossy by others who are intimidated by her abilities.
Summary
The ENTJ female is an extremely rare personality type, but this personality has a lot of potential and can be a great friend to have. For the ENTJ female, it’s important not to feel discouraged by the difficulty faced every day and to keep striving towards the goals that you want to achieve.
