The my personality is a personality test that takes into account four dimensions of personality. These are where attention is focused (extroverted or introverted), how information is gathered (sensing or intuition), how decisions are made (thinking or feeling), and how these inputs help you deal with the world (judging or perceiving). Each personality is made up of a combination of these four traits, so there are 16 possible combinations.
ENTJ explained
An ENTJ personality is one that has an extroverted focus of attention, takes information intuitively, makes decisions based on their thoughts not their feelings, and judges the world. This personality type is very rare, and accounts for only 1.8% of the total population. In the male population 2.3% are ENTJ while 1.5% of females are ENTJ.
The ENTJ is a personality that likes to think strategically about the future. They’re very forward-focused and driven individuals who are able to organize people efficiently and are comfortable in positions of leadership and power. They’re often structured and like to challenge themselves and others.
However, the ENTJ is also prone to overlooking others in their personal and professional lives, and can come off as neglectful of others’ emotional needs. TENTJs can be seen as domineering and bossy, and can be intimidating for some people to work with.
Difference between ENTJ-A and ENTJ-T
The ENTJ personality can also be put into two subtypes, known as ENTJ Assertive (ENTJ-A) and ENTJ Turbulent (ENTJ-T). These two subtypes encompass differences; not how the ENTJ perceives the world but how they’re able to react to stressful situations and express their emotions.
ENTJ-A personalities:
ENTJ- A personalities are generally seen as very cold and unemotional. Although all ENTJ personalities struggle to connect with others and show their emotions, even to those closest to them, the ENTJ-A struggles most of all.
This personality type is likely to have issues with connection and might be seen as domineering and harsh, leading to a lack of deep personal connections. They’re also more likely to be neglectful of the emotions of those around them.
This is particularly pronounced in a working relationship, where the ENTJ-A personality might struggle to understand how their subordinates are failing to achieve goals due to personal difficulties. The ENTJ-A is likely to be unimpressed by their colleague’s excuses and actually become frustrated, even as another personality type might be sympathetic. This makes for a bad working environment and might lead to a high turnover in the ENTJ-A’s office.
The ENTJ-Apersonality is also more likely to be able to take their emotions entirely out of a decision and therefore might be able to make the hard calls in a working or personal relationship. This personality subset doesn’t suffer fools lightly and is likely to be easily able to detach from people who aren’t supportive.
The ENTJ-A has high self-esteem and has the achievements to show to back it up. They’re a cool, logical person who won’t let others bring them down.
ENTJ-T personalities
The ENTJ-T is more expressive with their emotions than the ENTJ-A. Although they still struggle with their emotional connections to themselves and others, they’re more prone to being compassionate towards others than the ENTJ-A.
The ENTJ-T also tends to have lower self-confidence and might be more likely to soften the brash nature often associated with the ENTJ individual. The ENTJ-T might be more charismatic as a boss, but they’re also more prone to fits of temper and might be more impulsive than the ENTJ-A.
ENTJ individuals are already very quick decision-makers, relying on their impulses and not often undergoing self-reflection. The ENTJ-T is more likely to be dismissive towards their colleagues than the ENTJ-A and is more likely to come to regret their actions once they’ve had a bit of time to reflect.
The ENTJ personality type is known for being loyal to those who show their ability. The ENTJ-T is even more likely than the ENTJ-A to be incredibly helpful to others when they ask for it.
Although the ENTJ-T has no patience for a lack of ability, they’re very predisposed to charity and are incredibly philanthropic to people who they respect. If you can prove that you have a good work ethic for an ENTJ character, they’re likely to take you under their wing and help you with whatever they can. They’ll be a steadfast and objective friend, helping you through situations and pointing out when you could be wrong.
